STREAKS, STATS AND NOTES — The Patriots have won each of the last eight meetings against the Jets, who haven't beaten New England since a 26-20 overtime home win at the Meadowlands. ... The AFC East rivals meet on “Monday Night Football” for the ninth time, with each team having won four times. ... New England enters on a four-game losing streak, its longest skid since 2002. The Patriots will try to avoid losing five straight games for the first time since 1995, when they finished 6-10 under Bill Parcells. ... New England has scored just seven of its 136 total points in the first quarter, while giving up 36 points. ... QB Cam Newton was 15 of 25 for 174 yards and ran for 54 yards and a TD last week against Buffalo, but had the ball punched out of his hands in the final minute to seal the loss. Newton's six TD runs are second to Arizona's Kyler Murray, who has seven, among NFL quarterbacks this season. ... Second-year RB Damien Harris ran for a career-high 102 yards and his first NFL TD last week. He'll try to become the first Patriots running back with consecutive 100-yard rushing games since LeGarrette Blount in 2016. ... RB James White has 24 touchdown receptions in 83 career regular-season games. Brian Westbrook holds the NFL record for RBs for quickest to 25 TD catches, doing so in 87 regular-season games. ... CB J.C. Jackson has interceptions in three straight games and could join Devin McCourty (2019) and Mike Haynes (1976) as the only Patriots players with INTs in four in a row. ... McCourty has 28 career INTs and needs one to tie Ron Hall, Roland James and Fred Marion for third on the team's career list. ... The Jets are 0-8 for the first time since the 1996 team lost its first eight and finished 1-15 under Rich Kotite. A loss Monday night would mark New York's first 0-9 start in franchise history. ... Adam Gase's offense ranks last in the NFL in several categories, including scoring, total yards, yards passing, third-down efficiency and red-zone offense. Coordinator Dowell Loggains ran the offense the last two games. ... The Jets have struggled in the second half of their last two games, finishing with 4 yards over the final two quarters two weeks ago against Buffalo, and only 63 at Kansas City last week. ... QB Sam Darnold was dealing with a sore right shoulder after taking a hard hit against Buffalo. He missed two games last month with a sprained AC joint in the shoulder. Darnold threw for just 133 yards at Kansas City a week after having 120 yards passing — the second-lowest total of his career — against Buffalo. He has thrown for just three touchdowns with six interceptions in six games, and his 65.9 quarterback rating is last in the NFL among quarterbacks that have made at least three starts, and the lowest of his career. ... RB Frank Gore has appeared in 234 career games, tying him with Tony Richardson for second among running backs in NFL history. Only Lorenzo Neal has played in more with 239. ... WR Jamison Crowder missed the last two games with a groin injury, but still leads the Jets with 29 receptions, 383 yards receiving and two TDs. He has caught seven or more passes in his last five games, dating to Week 17 of last year. It's the NFL's longest active streak and longest in franchise history. ... WR Braxton Berrios caught a career-high eight passes last week. ... DL Quinnen Williams had two tackles for loss at KC and has eight straight games with at least three tackles. He's the only D-lineman in the league to have three or more tackles in every game this year. ... Fantasy tip: The smart play would be to stay away from anyone on either offense, perhaps other than Harris. He has two 100-yard rushing performances in four games this year, but only two catches.
