FILE - Seattle Mariners gather as the MLB logo is shown during a review of an attempted catch by right fielder Mitch Haniger of a ball hit by Tampa Bay Rays' Ji-Man Choi that was originally called an out during the ninth inning of a baseball game Friday, June 18, 2021, in Seattle. The call was overturned. The Mariners won 5-1. The clock ticked down toward the expiration of Major League Baseball’s collective bargaining agreement at 11:59 p.m. EST Wednesday night, Dec. 1, 2021, and what was likely to be a management lockout ending the sport’s labor peace at over 26 1/2 years. FILE - In this Dec. 30, 2018, file photo, Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, left, talks with general manager John Schneider before the team's NFL football game against the Arizona Cardinals in Seattle. There is a clear and obvious need for the Seahawks to address along the defensive line and it happens to be one of the deeper positions of talent in the entire draft. That may be far too simplistic and straightforward for Schneider and Carroll. Schneider is always good for a few surprises in the draft, and more than a couple of trades.
So, while it seems addressing the pass rush — especially with the continuing unknowns around Jadeveon Clowney — is the obvious direction for Schneider and the Seahawks, it’s never that clear with Seattle. (AP Photo/Ted S. Warren, File)
